VACCINE SCHEDULE
Vaccines are safe. Vaccines are effective. Vaccines save lives. Vaccines have been part of the fabric of our society for decades and are the most significant medical innovation of our time. Our clinic supports the American Academy of Pediatrics for PRO VACCINE.

Check with your doctor or nurse to make sure your baby is receiving all vaccinations on schedule. Many
times vaccines are combined to reduce the number of injections. Be sure you ask for a record card with the dates of your baby’s vaccinations; bring this with you to every visit.

About Vaccine Information Statements

Vaccine Information Statements (VISs) are information sheets produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). VISs explain both the benefits and risks of a vaccine to adult vaccine recipients and the parents or legal representatives of vaccinees who are children and adolescents. Federal law requires that VISs be handed out whenever certain vaccinations are given (before each dose).

NOTE: All VIS on this site are in PDF format. You will need Adobe Reader to view them. The PDF versions of these documents are the same as the versions you would receive by ordering directly from CDC or your local health department. These documents are suitable for reproducing as handouts for patients.

We at Ching’s Pediatrics are dedicated to provide optimal care for our patients. We feel that, to do this effectively, we must commit to a partnership based on mutual trust with the parents of our patients so that together we can achieve this goal. Recently, there has been a trend of unjustified fear of side effects from vaccines by well-meaning parent(s). We believe that immunizations are one of the most important health interventions a parent can do on behalf of their children, and we want all our patients to benefit from this modern lifesaving tool.

While we recognize and respect the parents’ role as the ultimate decision maker for their child’s health, we strongly believe that we are obligated to deliver the best and safest healthcare possible for our patients and our community. When a child is unvaccinated, it puts other children at risk for these preventable and life-threatening diseases. These preventable diseases can and do cause severe illness, brain damage, and death. These guidelines are recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and recommended by the Center of Disease and Control (CDC). A recent outbreak of measles reminds us of the important role immunizations play in the public health system. Due to the following circumstances, we are unable to provide services to any patients who choose not to be vaccinated.

Here at Ching’s Pediatrics, we have implemented a zero-tolerance policy or non-vaccination without logical reasoning in order to keep our patients and community safe.

Sincerely yours,

Rebecca Sy Ching, MD., FAAP.
